Big Blue Party Cake Shoot

For the Old Dominion University’sBig Blue Party Cake, I wanted to create a playful, celebratory visual
world that felt distinctly Big Blue/ODU. I built the art direction around a bold blue color palette,
colorful sprinkles, and unexpected compositions that made the cake feel larger than life. The
shoot explored a range of perspectives, from floating cakes and pattern-driven overheads to
stacked cakes, candles, and the cake held up by Big Blue to create a collection of images that
felt cohesive while still having a sense of spontaneity and fun. The goal was to make the product
the hero while capturing the energy and personality of a birthday celebration.
